7 Safelist Tips that Work for Me

Safelists, or Viral Mailers (also known as list builders), are one of the best ways to advertise for free online. Check out this blog post regarding this.

Over time, these mailers have evolved and the owners of these mailers found better ways to make them more appealing to the members.

Below are some safelist marketing tips that I think will be really helpful for you.

Obviously, these tips aren’t the only things you can do. As you start using these safelists or mailers more often, you will find out your own tricks and strategies to use them better.

But these are some of the best tips to get you started. Lets take a look at them.

(1) Use good attractive subject lines

Make sure the subject lines you use for your safelist emails, attract curiosity. Make them catchy.

While it is true that many safelist members will open almost every 10 or 20 emails that recently got into their inbox, they will go straight to the “credit link”, without bothering to read the email, or what is in the subject line.

However, it still does help to spend a little time creating good subject lines.

There are a few members who might just be scrolling through their list of emails to find any subject line that catches their attention. Then they won’t be able to ignore it. They will open the email and click on the credit link to see what it is all about.

So, spend some time to create one of more good subject lines for your emails and store them.

You can see that, these subject lines are attention grabbing and generating curiosity. You simply can’t ignore to check out what the email body is about. You will even click on the credit link.

(2) Alternate your subject lines

Along with using attractive subject lines, you must also make sure that you change your subject lines every now and then. Don’t use the same subject line over and over in your safelist emails.

Often, there will be a few members who will not bother to open an email with the same subject line, because they have seen it previously.

In fact, I suggest after every two sends in a particular safelist, you change your subject line, even if you are using the same email body copy.

This will not only improve your email open rates and click through rates, but it will also result in an increase in the number of signups and referrals for you.

(3) Write the email body well and keep it short

Although most safelist members will just open the email and go straight to the credit link, without bothering to read the email, but there will be some members who will read the email. This is especially true if after clicking the credit link the page they see interests them, then they will come back and check what is written in the email body content itself.

Don’t lose this opportunity to get new signups and sales. Spend some time in writing the email body copy well, keep it short, so that they get the most important information about the offer as quickly as possible.

(4) Use HTML email whenever possible

HTML emails catch reader’s attention more easily than text emails.

So, if a safelist has the option to send an HTML email instead of a plain text email…do it!

Many safelists give you the ability to send your ads out as html emails.

Sometimes this feature is only available to upgraded members.

Most HTML mailer in a mailer will have a source code button, you can copy and store that source code in a notepad, so that you can use the same source code when sending html ad next time or to another mailer.

(5) Send your email as often as you can

This is one of the best safelist marketing tips I can give you.

If a mailer allows you to send 4 times a day, do it.

If a mailer allows you to send anytime, send as often as you can.

If a mailer allows you to send once every two days, don’t miss
the chance to send your email every two days.

Why?

This is because at any particular time, only a few members of that mailer will be checking their emails and they will most likely click only the first 10 or 20 emails that show in their inbox. Or they may just be checking through the subject lines of the initial few emails that have just landed into their inbox during the previous few hours.

By sending your mails more times during the day, you will increase the chance that more members of that safelist will see your safelist email ad that you have just sent in that safelist.

Keep track of at what safelist you have just sent and when you can send again (after how many hours or day later). Also make sure you have stored enough credits in such a safelist so that you can mail as often as you can.

(6) Check How many Clicks you have got

You must also take a note of how many clicks you are getting from any email message you have sent to a particular mailer.

If you are not getting sufficient clicks, it might not be worth using that mailer. Your time is better spent in other mailers that give you more clicks per send.

I have seen mailers where you get only 2 or 3 clicks for sending email ad to 1000 members. This is because most members of that mailer is not active. Then this safelist or mailer is definitely not worth pursuing.

Note that, you will be using SAME amount of time, to send a message in a particular mailer that you do with another mailer, so why not do that with a mailer where you can get more number of clicks per send, rather than in a mailer where you get only 2 or 3 clicks per send?

(7) Upgrade in as many Good Safelists as you can

Try to upgrade in a good responsive viral mailer, whenever possible.

In fact, you should try to upgrade in as many good responsive mailers as you can.

In general, immediately after joining a mailer, you will be offered lifetime or yearly upgrade deal at a reduced cost. Take it if possible, especially if the mailer is from a great admin.

How does upgrading will help you? Upgrading will save you so much time that you don’t have to spend much time in earning credits. Upgrading will also allow you to send your ad more frequently, to more members.

Note that, earning credits in any mailer takes time.

Just think about it. Is it really worth to spend 3 hours of your day in earning some credits in probably 4 or 6 Mailers?

Especially when by upgrading in a Mailer, you can earn more credits per click, you can send your email more often, and even you get some hefty amount of bonus credits each month?

I know of some safelist marketers who only join a Mailer when they see a good deal for lifetime upgrade. Otherwise they will not become a free member of that Mailer.
